For just about any male, sports are one of the most important parts of life. This is a universal concept, as is true in almost every society. In one manner or another, everyone is involved in sports, whether watching or playing it.
In high school, I always excelled as a football player. I was a running back and middle linebacker. For both, I was granted all-county and all-metro honors. Just the same, I also enjoyed watching sports. After practice, you could normally find me sitting on the living room couch, attentively watching the ESPN channel. I was always up on the events which took place, in sports ranging from golf to basketball. Sports were a keystone in my existence, and were not to be taken lightly. 
With this in mind, it is easy to understand why being deprived of sports could cause me exasperation. As child, I could not even fathom not being able to watch the latest football game. Nevertheless, because of my job, I was rarely home to watch TV. As a wartime journalist, I was constantly on the move, seeking and reporting on stories in various locations, frequently outside of the United States. Because of my profession, I was always on the computer. Daily, I was required to type and conduct research on new developments.
